“YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SERVE AS A FRONT LINE FIREFIGHER TO JOIN AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE”
SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM
There are so many different ways that you can help the volunteer fire departments in Sevier County and
you don’t have to serve as a certified, frontline firefighter to do it…
The SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION is comprised of men and women of varying backgrounds and degrees
of talent, and is instrumental in providing a wide range of assistance to the fire service in Sevier County.
This may be a perfect fit for someone looking to volunteer their time for a good cause without having
to complete the intense training requirements to become a frontline firefighter. Some of the critical
functions this group provides the fire service include:
Helping with emergency scene logistics
Coordinating rehabilitation (food, water, shelter, ect.) at emergency scenes
Organizing and facilitating various committees for the fire departments
Providing Chaplaincy services to the members and the public we serve

CADET/EXPLORER PROGRAM
Several of the volunteer departments in Sevier County have a functioning CADET/EXPLORER program
that is designed for the young adults in the area. This program has grown over the last few years and
provides our youth with the opportunity to learn valuable skills that will positively impact the rest of
their lives.
Membership into the program is limited to those young adults who live in Sevier County and are a
sophomore, junior, or senior. Some of the things that have made this such a popular program amongst
the youth is the hands on training, side by side real life experiences with certified firefighters, and the
sense of belonging that the team provides. The CADETS/EXPLORERS typically have a weekly training
session and also get to attend the fire department’s meetings, training sessions, and public relation
events. After meeting certain training requirements the Cadets will actually get the opportunity to
respond to fire scenes and assist the firefighters in a various support roles while remaining in a safe
environment.
This program has made a big difference in the lives of those who participate in it. It provides an
opportunity for the Cadets to become part of a tight knit group that get to experience things that
others their age can’t imagine. Intense training both as a group and individually with certified front line
firefighters. Cadets get to experience the true meaning of teamwork while adopting a moral standard
that they will carry with them for a lifetime. Due to the individualized attention that goes into the
mentoring program for the cadets, the program is limited in numbers and each applicant must meet
certain criteria to be accepted. Contact us to begin the adventure of a lifetime.
